Therapy-led, not influencer-led or orthodox marriage counselling: This isn't Instagram advice or church counselling. It is real, clinically-informed exploration of relationship dynamics and guidance on how to navigate them.
Your relationship is the focus: It is therapy for your relationship in a cohesive group where you feel supported by the therapist and other members of your group.
Designed with the group in mind: Cohorts are put together with commonality and support as a focus. We will speak to the cultural pressures, family dynamics and identity layers that often go unspoken.
Space for both of you: Completely impartial, we work with you both in exploring your own wiring and experiences of connection, safety, meanings and habits.
Not just preparation - but discernment: This space is just as safe for couples who during their time here, decide not to take the next steps in their relationship.

What can I expect from this couples counselling workshop?
The Rest Into Love workshops provide practical tools and guided exercises to improve communication, rebuild trust, and deepen connection. You’ll engage in interactive sessions tailored for couples aged 24-45 in the UK, focusing on real-life relationship challenges.
Do we need to be in crisis to attend the couples workshop?
Not at all. Our couples counselling workshops are designed for couples who want to grow, strengthen their relationship and identify problem areas before issues become a crisis. Whether you're navigating everyday stress, communication challenges, or simply want to future-proof your relationship, this proactive approach helps you build a strong foundation. Relationship therapy isn't just for fixing problems, it's for preventing them.
What if I'm unsure about the future of my relationship?
Feeling unsure about the direction of your relationship is more common than you might think, especially during periods change, or stress, such as when moving in together, or planning a wedding. Our couples counselling workshops are designed to help you gain clarity, improve communication, and explore whether your relationship can grow stronger with the right support. You don’t need to have all the answers, just a willingness to explore them together in a safe, supportive space.
How long is each Relax Into Love couples counselling workshop?
The workshops typically last between 5-6 hours. There is time to get your own lunch and comfort breaks in between and as needed.
When do the couples counselling workshops take place?
Our couples counselling workshops run one Saturday each month during the daytime, perfect for busy people, parents, and couples who prefer a calm, focused setting outside of weekday pressures. This monthly format allows time to reflect, practice new skills, and return with fresh insight each session.
Can I attend just one of the couples counselling workshop sessions?
No, the workshop is a full relationship support programme delivered in a closed group format. This means the same couples attend each month, creating trust, continuity, and a safe environment for deeper connection and growth. One-off attendance isn’t offered, as the programme is designed to build progress over time.
Is couples counselling effective for people my age?
Absolutely. Many couples aged 20-45 find workshops especially helpful for navigating common early relationship issues like communication barriers, conflict resolution, and commitment fears.
Many workshops cater to the majority. Do your workshops offer a supportive space for people who don’t usually feel seen in traditional workshop spaces?
Of course. Our couples counselling workshops are designed to be inclusive and culturally responsive, especially for those who may not have felt represented or fully understood in traditional therapy settings. We create a safe, peer-based environment where individuals and couples can connect with others who share similar life experiences, values, and relationship challenges. Many people find this group-based format more accessible, relatable, and empowering than one-to-one therapy alone.
Can we attend a workshop if we’re not married or living together?
Yes. Our workshops welcome couples, regardless of marital status, embarking on new living arrangements, and new relationship steps including seriously dating, engaged, and cohabiting partners.
What if only one partner wants to attend?
Both partners’ participation is required for the couples workshops. Individuals are welcome to join the individuals relationship workshops and learn tools that can positively impact their relationship.
Are these workshops confidential?
At Simi Sara, we maintain strict confidentiality to ensure a safe, respectful space for all couples. While group guidelines emphasise privacy (what’s shared in the room stays in the room) we can’t guarantee how others will act outside the workshop. We encourage you to share only what feels comfortable in the group setting. For more private matters, each couple also receives dedicated one-to-one therapy as part of the programme.
Is this religion-aligned or spiritual?
No. It is psychotherapy-informed, not religious. All belief systems are welcome
Do you offer workshops tailored to diverse cultural backgrounds?
Yes. Our sessions are culturally sensitive and inclusive, respecting the unique experiences of UK couples from all ethnicities and backgrounds.
How much do other premarital counselling workshops cost in the UK?
There aren’t many premarital couples workshops of this kind in the West Midlands to compare directly. Ours offer clear value including engagement with peers, ongoing support, guidance from a psychotherapist trained in intimate partner therapy, and tools to prevent the high emotional and financial costs of unresolved conflict, miscommunication, or relationship breakdown. Investing in your relationship now can save far more later.
Can I get a refund if I change my mind or I don’t like the programme?
You may cancel your place for a 50% refund if you notify us at least 35 days before the programme start date. After this point, no refunds will be issued, as the couples counselling programme requires full commitment from the outset. This policy reflects the limited spaces available and the structured nature of the closed-group format. All refund terms are in line with UK consumer protection and trading standards. We aim to ensure you get what you came for so please let us know if there is anything we can do to better meet your needs.
Why attend an in-person couples counselling workshop instead of having it online?
In-person couples workshops offer deeper connection, fewer distractions, and a stronger sense of emotional safety, especially in a world dominated by screens. Being physically present with others creates a powerful shared experience that strengthens emotional insight and relational growth. This allows for richer communication, more natural interaction, and the pooled energy of a supportive group. Many people find that stepping away from their everyday digital environments creates space for real breakthroughs and meaningful change. This workshop Saturdays aim to be as technology free as possible.
Can we have the therapy sessions part online?
Yes. The Private therapy sessions are all online through Zoom and can be attended in the privacy of your own home. We will guide you through the access and sitting arrangements.
Are there any workshops offered online?
Yes. We have some workshops that are held online across the UK for maximum accessibility. Please see the Personal Relational Workshop page for the online workshops offered.
Is this series only for black couples?
No, this series is for couples of all races. However, cohorts may be grouped using certain characteristics so that we can better meet group needs.
How do I book a couples counselling workshop?
Simply contact us via this website or social media to express your interest. We’ll guide you through the booking process and send all necessary information.
Info: Research shows that in the UK, white individuals are well-represented in couples therapy, while men and women from racially and culturally diverse backgrounds report higher levels of relationship distress. Despite this, we are far less likely to seek support. My practice offers culturally responsive relationship and couples workshops, and peer-fuelled workshops for individuals. Whether you're a man navigating emotional disconnection or a woman feeling unseen in your relationship, you’ll find a respectful, inclusive space to explore the difficult issues you experience and move towards connection and change.
There is no perfect time to evolve in your relationship, but there is a powerful way to do it with intention, awareness and care.
