Counselling skills can be learned and applied to all workplace dialogues and discussions including difficult conversations, support during adverse life circumstances and wellbeing practice.

This course is aimed at all managers, especially:

-          Individuals new to management

-          Leaders who have had difficulties communicating effectively with staff

-          Teams with high turn-over of staff or high levels of work-related stress

These new competencies will help you retain staff and attract good quality employees as you establish a positive work environment that promotes wellbeing at work.

Course participation options

In-person participation:

0930 – 1630 (7hrs)  

Cost: from £700 per day at your premises, from £300 per learner at an external training venue

Number of learners: Minimum 4, Maximum 8

This involves learners attending the course in-person either at a training venue or at your organization’s premises. Attendance at a training venue may include a mix of participants from different organizations while attendance at your own premises will involve participants from your organization only.

In-person participation gives learners the opportunity to interact face-to-face with other learners and the teaching resources. Learners get real life experience of their and other’s communication style, closer access to body language expressions and more opportunities to explore the subject matter such as group discussions and engaging practical activities. This helps to improve the connection within the team that is easily practiced in the real world. The workshop provides the opportunity for discussion, exploration and skills practice.


Live video participation:

0930 – 1600 (7hrs)  

Cost: from £200 per learner

Number of learners: Minimum 4, Maximum 10

This is a live online class that involves learners attending the course via video link, either with members of their own organization or those of another organizations.

Live online participation allows for learners to attend the course from wherever they are located. The video link allows for flexibility, accessibility and communication in real-time. Learners can ask questions anonymously or to take time out when needed. Activities are tailored to online use and lends itself to participants who have team conversations remotely. This option is ideal if team members work remotely or work from different locations. The workshop provides the opportunity for discussion, exploration and skills practice

 

Online course:

Self-directed

Cost: from £180 (plus vat) per learner tbc

Number of learners: No maximum

This option is a text-based online course that allows learners to learn the subject matter in their own time and at their own pace. This allows for full flexibility in taking the course without distraction. The course includes practical case studies, action points and quizzes that allow the learner test their knowledge and practice their learning in the real world.

The course provides the opportunity for reflection and organic practice of learned skills.

The online course is not graded. The assessments contained serve to test the learner’s grasp of the content and check understanding. At the end of the course, all learners will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
